Hart's War. Bought it thinking it was going to be a decent WWII flick, and what did I get a modern Hogan's Heros wannabe.

As far as the ROTK choice...as a moderate LOTR fan, I think I can comment on that without being a fanboy, are you crazy? If it was your worse? What's your best, "Austin Powers"?

That comment just struck me in the same way as those people who say, "(Insert highly acclaimed film) is the worst movie ever!!"
Maybe he's talking about the Rankin-Bass cartoon.

Vulgar. Even as a fan of the View Askew films I cannot handle clown rape. Thank goodness they aren't showing it at the Vulgarthon this year.

Irreversible - I knew all about it and what it entailed and I'm a huge fan of Bellucci and Cassel, especially Bellucci, but it's just something I could never watch again, especially with other people - which is my main drive for keeping a dvd, to be able to share it with others.

Felicidades

Movie from Argentina, distributed by Vanguard here in the States. I bought it based on one or two good reviews, ignoring the lukewarm ones. Did manage to get rid of it via Amazon Marketplace; I hope the person that bought it from me liked it better.

I bought the ROTK Extended Edition. I didn't think there was enough story development or enough extras. As for my best blind buy, it was "Soul Plane."

Oh. When I was a wee lad my folks used to tell me tall tales of legendary figures and this mysterious form of wit known as "sarcasm." Unfortunately for me, I was never very good at pin-pointing when this mystical red herring was being used, so I've yet to see a sarcasm with my own eyes.

Nicely done.

A Day Without a Mexican. Oh my GOD, for such a good idea, that was mind-numbingly awful.

And to whomever the poster is with Endless Mike Helstrom's "DIDN'T I?!?" quote, you owe me a new keyboard.

Later.

Have you seen or bought the other two films? If not, then that's like reading the last third of a book and then complaining that there's no character development.

Worst blind buy = Asterix And Obelix Take On Caesar, auctioned it the day after I watched it.

Worst blind buy I've kept = Space 1999 season 2. Buggered if I know why I bought it, I never got around to watching all of Season 1 it was so stupid. I guess it's not really a complete blind buy as I remember liking what I saw of it as a kid.

Still undecided on Donnie Darko... I mean it looks good, sounds good, it's loaded with special features but I just don't know yet if I like the film enough to keep it (special case and all).

I probably should be posting this in the international thread, but I'm still going to say 2009:Lost Memories.

This film had me riding on edge until a little over 1/2 way through. Then all of a sudden, it was like a group of new writers entered the picture and the floor dropped out. And to add insult to injury, all the center channel speaker information was redirected, only to end up coming from the right front speaker and some in the right rear surround speaker. Not only did the movie go south, the effed up surround problem was distracting as anything never experienced before. Come to find out it was a defective disk.

The funny part is, I never finished the story the first round. I waited until the replacement disk came. It too had the same problem as the original. Unreal. So, I finally finished the movie after all the excitement had been built up from receiving the new copy and had to sit through about an hour's worth of distraction. Horrible I say .. horrible.

Now I can't even pawn off the disk because I really do have a soul. Thank goodness it was less than a tenner for purchase.
